Wooden molds

For generations, Rückl has used wooden molds for crystal blowing. Each piece is carefully selected from high-quality hardwood , mainly beech and pear. The massive trunks, with their narrow growth rings, are the ideal material for a glass mold . Thanks to the masterful craftsmanship of the wood , a unique tool is created for subsequent production at the glassworks . The hot glass at a temperature of 1200 degrees during the demanding hand-blowing process then gradually burns out the mold. In order to guarantee the perfect shape of the final product , these wooden molds must therefore be constantly renewed.

Glass melting

Glass melting is the first step in glass production . The basic raw material is exceptionally pure quartz sand mined in Bohemia. The unique properties of crystal are created by a number of additives, the composition of which ensures its ideal transparency and high refraction of light. Colored glass is melted according to old recipes , thanks to which the glass raw material is colored into unique and unrepeatable shades - such as the pink that is so characteristic of Rückl or the elegant dark brown of the so-called cigar .

Blown glass

Hand-blowing glass is a demanding but centuries-old method of crystal production that has been passed down from generation to generation at the Rückl glassworks. Every glass, vase or jewelry box is therefore unique and contains the touch of true glassmaking masters.

Hand sanding and painting

Rückl is committed to the renaissance of Czech cut crystal and represents the pinnacle of this traditional craft . The glass raw material is transformed into a perfect product under the hands of Nižborsk master cutters . Rückl is characterized by an exceptionally sharp cut, the precision of which is immediately recognizable. The hand-painting technique, where high enamel or gilding is carefully applied to the crystal with a brush, also represents another masterful art that gives Rückl products an unmistakable character.
