How to take care of a candle

Here are some tips to help you keep a candle preserved in Rückl crystal that will last longer and burn perfectly. You will be able to really enjoy the warm atmosphere to the bottom.

1. Preparing for the first ignition

Before each ignition, straighten and shorten the wick to about 5 millimeters to prevent unwanted smoking. If this situation occurs, gently extinguish the candle and allow the wax to cool completely, then remove the burnt ends from the wick. Remove any remaining broken wick and other dirt from the container before re-igniting.

2. Let the candle burn long enough

It will take about 40-60 minutes and you can be sure that no unmelted wax will remain on the surface and along the edges of the glass. The brightness of the flame can gradually change and even cause it to go out, but this is a common phenomenon. If the flame seems to be too low, the opposite is true - it is constantly burning and gradually intensifying again. We recommend a burning time of between 3 and 5 hours.

3. For the safety of you and your loved ones

If there is about 6 millimeters of wax at the bottom of the jar, do not light the candle any further, there is a risk that direct contact of the flame with the glass may cause it to break. Also be careful when handling hot glass after prolonged burning.

4. Do not tilt the candle with molten wax

Pouring or removing wax from the container can cause the wick to go out or solidify in the wax. Place the candle on a flat and ideally heat-resistant surface.

5. Keep the candle under supervision

Do not leave the candle unattended and in a draft. Also, keep it out of the reach of children, pets and flammable materials. Always remember to extinguish the candle before leaving the room. Never use water to extinguish. In addition to open windows, drafts and air conditioning can also cause drafts.
